Whatcha think?

So my latest dilemma is deciding on a name for my book ... I'm really liking the "Lady of the Night" thing but a few nights ago I was trying to figure out how to incorporate some pictures into the book and I was thinking - for the cover - of putting one of my bimbos on the hood of a cab having a Tawny Kitaen moment and naming it "Cab Driving: It Does A Body Good". 'Cuz that's a bit funny to me.

And for your viewing pleasure: yet another work envelope and the latest in a long line of "another pic drawn by me that will die unfinished because I don't like it".

All because I'm too busy and/or lazy to type up a story right now. ;o)

Toodles!

I envy your talent.

I have always loved This Fare City, what about My Fare Lady? I like your idea of a chick on the hood of a cab too.

Paradise: Thank you.

Jessie: I thought of that but my typical response to anyone that comments on a "lady cab driver" is that while I may be a female, I am far from a lady. heh

Ummm... "Lady of the Night" sounds like a different occupation entirely! :-)

Yeah, that was my thought...(re: Dave2). What's wrong with "This Fare City"? I heart that.

my fare lady is pretty witty - i am partial to this fare city too.

"Lady of the Night" could boost sales - see Dave2 comment.

This Fare City works pretty well, and the cover drawing sounds cool.

I'm kinda partial to This Fare City as well, but there IS still Bud to think about. I don't want there to be any sort of problems w/him or his "My Fare City". I'm sure I could win my title in court if it came down to it, and the (little) bit of media attention would be a boost to sales, but it's a hassle I don't want and/or need.

There was a tv show in the early 2000's called "Hack" with an episode called "My Fare Lady" so I'm guessing that one's out for the same reason. Kinda why I'm working on the other two.

And yeah, I was kinda hoping to catch some of the overflow from the Lady of the Night cross references. But, also why I wanted it to be "LoftheN: Cab Stories from Ptld, OR" or something like that. Although I'm becoming more attached to "LoftheN: Driving Portland Crazy" as suggested by MeatCake. does that mean I hafta pay her if I do choose that one? ;o)

Decisions. Anyway, now you can see my dilemma.

I think you'd be OK with "My Fare Lady" - the name of a TV episode isn't the same as copyrighting a title.

And seriously, This Fare City is the best. And media attention if you DID get sued (which I seriously, highly doubt you would)

Love the pics, especially the fairy.

My thoughts on the title. I really dislike Lady of the Night for a few reasons. Mainly though I think it cuts out some of your market. Too many people will be browsing through titles, see it, associate it with prostitution and pass it by.

"Driven to: Distractions."

That's the best I can think of.

This Fare City would be the best one, but I see what you mean about legalities.
"Lady of the Night" sounds like a vampire story to me, which might not be a bad thing if it draws that audience.
I dunno. But that fairy is really pretty... I love the wings. Much more like what I've always imagined for fairies.

Hee! Naw, no payment necessary! It's payment enough that I get to read your fabulous stories. Hooray!

Fare Wind, Fare 'Nough, Fare Weather, Farely Sure (my stream of consciousness has left its banks).

How about a one word primary title, like, say "Driven", in nice broad, classy lettering across the top, with a subtitle of "This Fare City" in slender, smaller letters just underneath ... just brainstorming.

Oops, there would be a colon after "Driven".

nice job on the "my fare lady" decision. Keep the sunny side up and the greasy side down. BC
